It is the truth;
Several runners that happen to go to Southwest High School (as well as other schools) and run cross country have entered the Midwest Foot Locker meet. The trip was organized by various Southwest alumni. Among those planning on going are Neil Grosscup, Ethan Jewett, Erik DeLapp, Danielle Walter, Summer Hills-Boncczyk, and Koby Hagen. Also, some runners from other schools will be going as well.
At the Midwest Region, AR, CO, IA, IL, IN, KS, MI, MN, MO, NE, ND, OH, OK, SD, and WI, will be the States competing. The runners will be running in a few different races: The Seeded Race (which requires a qualification time of 16:20 5K for boys), the Open Adidas Race, and Freshman/Sophomore Race, and the Junior/Senior Race. Neil Grosscup is the only runner from Southwest that meets the qualifying time, his best time being 15:58.
The Seeded Race will include such well-known runners as Nick Schneider, two time winner of the Minnesota State Cross Country Meet at St. Olaf College, and Dathan Ritzenhein, winner of the 1999 Footlocker Nationals in Orlando Florida. The top 8 finishers of the Seeded Race advance to the National meet in Florida.
There is one other runner on this trip who meets the qualification time; Forrest Tahdooanippah of St. Paul Central, his best time being 15:52.
